On Thursday 28th March 2009 the children recorded the footage to make a video that will accompany the record. This was achieved with the help of Rob Goodwin, Director of Champagne Film and Television Productions ltd. Rob gave his time and skill to the project completely for free and also moved his whole diary around to accomodate the timescales. A really generous act indeed!Over the years, Rob has worked with many artistes including Billy Connolly, Viktor Borge, Brian Conley, Tom Jones, The Drifters, David Essex, The London Philharmonic, Dionne Warwick, Chuck Berry, Rik Mayall, Bob Monkhouse, Ben Elton, and many, many others.
The day started in earnest with the first scenes being shot inside the Nothe Forte. We had been given special permission by the Forte's Director to use the courtyard early on, before the attraction opened to the general public. The children were all very excited at finally being able to put their well rehearsed moves into practice! Mr Payne, who is both teacher to some of the children and also the choreographer for this project, was soon putting the children through their paces with the help of his colleague Mrs Garland, all under the direction of Rob. Mr Payne had brought along his mobile sound system to play the song and this added to the atmosphere! The staff at the Forte that morning really enjoyed theselves, and were soon dancing away in time with the children. In the afternoon the filming switched to the school first followed by the subway in the town centre where the CD cover was shot. It was a long, but fun day for everyone. We all extend our thanks to Rob for the effort he has put in subsequently to make this marevellous video - we are sure it will be really popular!
