Richard Shoulders - Programme Manager for British Telecom

Hi, my name is Richard Shoulders and I work for BT as a Programme Manager. I have set up this website to tell you about a fantastic song, We are One! which has been written and performed by  Maddie Roberts and her friends who are in year 5 & 6 at Wyke Regis C of E Junior School, Weymouth in Dorset. The school and pupils have donated the song to ChildLine so that it can be sold as a download with ChildLine to benefit from all of the proceeds. I think this is a very noble thing to do - I hope you do too. In return I would love to get the single heard as widely as I can in the hope that as many people as possible will buy the song when it is released as a download in July this year. This way the children can have wonderful memories of a hit record that they have made and ChildLine can do more of the really good work that they do so well!
Dave Payne - Year Six Teacher at Wyke Regis Junior School

Hi; this is David Payne. I am the teacher who helped to inspire Maddie to write the song initially and I helped her put it to music.  I produced the initial demo that sparked the interest from BT and started a chain of events that has evolved into this fantastic opportunity for ChildLine and the children involved in the record. I am also the person responsible for putting the group together and for choreographing their routines and I’ll be co-producing the track with Barry Upton at his studios on 31st May. I love helping others to achieve success and I love supporting charities like ChildLine and helping them to continue to do the fantastic job they do. I’ve always had a love of music and so to be involved with a record that will hopefully reach the Top 40 is like a dream come true.

Victoria Garland - Year Six Teacher at Wyke Regis Junior School
Hi, my name is Victoria Garland and I am a year 6 teacher at Wyke Regis C of E Junior School. In my role I am used to meeting and working with many talented children. However, I think it is fair to say that I have never been as privileged to work with such gifted young musicians as I am at the moment. Right from the first moment I heard our pupils sing their song ‘We Are One’, I knew that it would capture the imaginations of many and inspire others to think about making a difference to children’s lives. We are so proud of the girls and their passion to sell their song in order to raise money for ChildLine. I am amazed by everyone’s energy and the speed with which it has all come together! I am delighted to be part of this wonderful venture and look forward to seeing the children reach their full potential.
